Shan Koe Mee — Myanmar's Classic Card Game
Shan Koe Mee is a 52-card game that has been played across generations in Myanmar. Familiar to players everywhere, the game is now available on the may999 online platform so you can play from home.
Each player is dealt 3 or 5 cards. Based on the score of their current hand, players decide whether to draw additional cards or stand. The highest score is called "Koe Mee", and scoring works by taking only the last digit of the total — so 9 is the best possible result.
The may999 Shan Koe Mee platform is fully available in Myanmar language with clearly stated game rules. Myanmar language support is also available via 24/7 Live Chat.
How to Play Shan Koe Mee
Follow these steps one by one and you will understand Shan Koe Mee right away and be ready to play on may999.
Place Your Bet
Each player puts the amount they want to wager into the pot first. The dealer then shuffles and deals the cards.
Draw 3 Cards and Check Your Score
Each player receives 3 cards. Scores run from 1 to 9 — if the total goes above 9, only the last digit counts (e.g. 10 = 0, 17 = 7).
Decide Whether to Draw More Cards
If you feel your score is low, you can draw 1 or 2 more cards. If you have a score of 7, 8, or 9, standing is the strategic move.
All Players Reveal and Compare
After everyone reveals their cards, the player with the highest score (Koe Mee) takes the pot. Ties are broken by suit.
Special Hands with Card Combinations

| Three of a Kind | 3 cards of the same value — a combination that can win a bonus payout |
| Zero (0) | Total sum of 0 — lowest score |

Shan Koe Mee winning strategies
A wrong strategy can cost you a good hand. Understand the basic strategies below.
Stand at 7 or above
After drawing 3 cards, if you have a score of 7 or 8, do not draw an additional card. Drawing again increases the chance of your score going down.
Money management
Set a limit of no more than 5–10% of your total balance per round. If you are losing, do not immediately chase your losses.
Watch the other players
In a live game, pay attention to how other players draw cards. If few players are drawing extra cards, it is reasonable to assume most of them are holding good hands.
Strategy for mid-range hands
If you score 5 or 6, you cannot tell how strong the other players' hands are — drawing just 1 more card and staying is the safer option.
Knowing combination hands
Combinations like Straight Flush and Three of a Kind are more valuable in games that pay bonus prizes beyond the base score. Read the game rules beforehand.
Avoid aggressive play
Avoid chasing losses by playing aggressively. Stay within your set limit and play responsibly.
